The Vehicular Crimes Unit
The Vehicular Crimes Unit responds to and investigates traffic collisions involving fatalities, serious or potentially life-threatening injuries, hit and run accidents, and traffic collisions involving MCSO fleet vehicles.
Arizona has some of the most stringent impaired-driving laws in the Nation. In fact, jail-time is mandatory for DUI offenses. Serious or repeat offenses, such as Extreme or Aggravated DUI, can result in long incarceration periods, revoked driving privileges, and further restrictions, such as a court-ordered ignition interlock device.
Bottom line: never drive when impaired by alcohol, drugs (legal or illegal), or prescription medication.
If you are involved in an injury accident or collision:
-
Stay at the scene
-
Get medical help for anyone in need
-
Wait for Sheriff’s Deputies or the Police to arrive
