If you’ve ever thought about becoming a Sheriff’s Deputy or have wanted to see what goes on behind the scenes, the free Community Academy program offers a great opportunity to learn more about local law enforcement.

The three-day program, specifically tailored for the residents of Maricopa County, is presented several times a year in English and in Spanish.

You’ll experience one-on-one interactive education from MCSO Deputies, Detention, and Civilian staff.  Sheriff’s Office Command staff members cover the fundamentals of:

• Criminal Investigations

• Laws of Arrest

• Patrols

• Aviation

• And more!

Attendees also participate in our virtual shooting range, virtually tour the Lower Buckeye Jail and interact with many of our specialty units.

Everyone with an interest is invited to apply. Our aim with the Community Academy is to strengthen partnerships with the community we serve and provide a better awareness of law enforcement’s role within Maricopa County.
