Maricopa County is the fourth largest and fastest growing county in the United States. For purposes of law enforcement, the county is divided into six geographical areas referred to as Districts and Lake Patrol. Each district has a commander, deputy commander, uniformed sergeants, patrol deputies, detectives, and administrative staff. District personnel primarily serve unincorporated areas of Maricopa County as well as contracted services in cities and towns.
